Collections technician (Summer student)

The Bill Reid Gallery is seeking a Collections Technician to assist in processing archival collections related to Bill Reid and his legacy. This role involves cataloging archival materials in the database, including arranging, describing, entering data, and scanning records.

This opportunity is ideal for a student interested in archival studies and Indigenous art, providing hands-on experience in a small, non-profit cultural arts organization. The student will gain practical training in arts administration, an introduction to museum collections management, and insight into the life and career of Bill Reid. They will also have the chance to participate in select public and community events.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to the preservation of Northwest Coast Indigenous art. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Contract Tour Guide

We are seeking an engaging and knowledgeable tour presenter to lead exhibition tours from May to September 2025 on a contract basis. Applicants with Indigenous ancestry are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Lead 3–6 guided tours per week (approximately 80 tours over five months)
- Deliver engaging and informative presentations using a provided tour script
- Provide meaningful connections between visitors and Northwest Coast Indigenous art and culture

Visitor Services Assistant (summer job)
