Northwest Coast Painting Workshop with Jay Morven

Join us for a hands-on introduction to Northwest Coast art led by Nisga'a artist Jay Morven. In this guided workshop, participants will explore the foundations of formline design while working with a contemporary composition created by Jay.

You’ll begin by tracing one of two original designs, then transfer it onto a round canvas and bring it to life with paint. Along the way, Jay will share insights into his artistic practice, creative process, and cultural influences.

No prior experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to create. This workshop is a welcoming space to learn, connect, and leave with a finished artwork of your own.

Perfect for anyone interested in Northwest Coast art, creative exploration, or learning directly from an Indigenous artist.
