Get into the spooky season with a hands-on beading workshop led by Syilx artist Candice Harvey of DepecheBeads!
In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create their own pair of beaded ghost earrings, just in time for Halloween! Candice will guide participants through the process step by step using a prepared pattern, sharing her knowledge and approach to beadwork along the way.
Whether you’re new to beading or looking for a fun seasonal project, this workshop is an opportunity to learn new skills, get creative, and leave with a handmade pair of ghost earrings to wear throughout the spooky season.
All supplies and materials are provided. No previous beading experience is required!

Candice Harvey is a Syilx artist whose family comes from the Upper Nicola Band. She began learning beadwork as a way to reconnect and create art, and shares her work through DepecheBeads.
Candice is currently studying at Simon Fraser University, where she is completing a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology with a minor in Indigenous Studies. Her goal is to pursue work that helps uplift Indigenous voices and supports the repatriation of Indigenous belongings and cultural heritage.
