Notice of Special General Meeting
Please join us for a Special General Meeting of the Bill Reid Foundation on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 4pm, online via Zoom, to vote on the proposed bylaw change:
BE IT RESOLVED, as a special resolution, that section 17.1 of the bylaws of the Bill Reid Foundation be amended by adding the following paragraph at the end of that section:
In the event of the liquidation or dissolution of the Foundation, or the distribution of its assets, any cultural property that has been certified by the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board or acquired with the assistance of a Movable Cultural Property Grant shall be transferred to a qualified donee which has been designated under the Cultural Property Export and Import Act (Canada). If no such designated organization is able to accept the property, it shall be transferred to one or more charities registered under the provisions of the Income Tax Act that are carrying on work with similar nature to such specific purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the directors are authorized to file the bylaw alteration and take all steps necessary to give effect to this resolution.
