The Bill Reid Gallery is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our visitors, patrons, staff and volunteers. The Gallery will not sell, lend, or share personal information with third parties without your consent.

 Personal Information

The Gallery collects personal information only from:

  • Online purchasers (admission, programs and shop)
  • Online enquiry forms (tours, education, rentals, volunteers)
  • Members, donors & patrons
  • Volunteers
  • Others who have shown an interest in the Gallery (ie: monthly e-news)

On all of the forms collecting contact information, you will be asked if you would like to receive updates from the Gallery. The Gallery will not share this information outside our organization.

 Use of Information

The Gallery uses personal information to better serve our visitors and to expand our community of support. This primarily includes using the information:

  • send you information pertaining to the product(s) or tickets you purchased (via Gallery, Shop or online)
  • inform you of special promotional offers, special events or upcoming exhibitions;
  • inquire about your satisfaction and needs with regards to the Gallery’s products, services etc.

We will only use personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected. The Gallery will ask for consent prior to sending online communications outside of reply to an email inquiry via online sign-up form, in person, or when making a purchase.

Security
The Gallery has taken steps to make all information received from our online visitors as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use. Personal information is stored in our database on a secure server, in hard copy files and remotely with password protected services such as Constant Contact, Donor Perfect and Shopify. Only authorized Gallery personnel have access to this information. Please keep in mind that no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure and any information disclosed online can potentially be collected and used by parties other than the intended recipient.

Cookies

The Gallery may use "cookie" technology to obtain non-personal information from its online visitors. Cookies allows us to understand how our visitors use our website and make any necessary changes to enhance user experience.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you may change your settings to not accept them or be notified when a cookie is being sent. Disabling cookies may affect the performance of the Gallery website.

Links

We make every effort to only link to websites that share our values and strive to ensure that these links are acceptable, but the privacy and data collection practices on any linked website are entirely separate from the Gallery and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. Other websites may also link to the Gallery website without our knowledge or consent. The Gallery has no responsibility for the content, policies or actions of these websites nor does the Gallery have authorization to make changes on certain external websites.
