Ma'7yeqsGerren Peters (Salish & Nuu-chah-nulth)
This playful print references the "Banksy" Girl with balloon mural that showed up in 2002 on the Waterloo bridge in South Bank, a district in central London. The image has been re-imagined through the eyes of Northwest Coast artist Gerren Peters. The balloon, in this case, is an elaborated ovoid known as a Salmon Trout Head design. The red headband and feather also reference the Indigenous origins of the print and the little girl pictured within it. This very limited edition is a second version of the first 'Telly Girl' print from 2019 that is slightly larger and is signed and titled with Gerren's sisters tradition name, Ma'7yeqs.
