Don Lancaster is from the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation and was born in Alert Bay, BC. a small and central community in the tradition territories of Northern Vancouver Island. Don comes from a long line of artists; Henry Seaweed, Lloyd Wadhams and Norman Seaweed to name a few.
Don learned his jewelry carving skills from his father Herbert and his brother, John. Don mainly carves silver and gold , and has been working as an artist since the 1980's. All his work is hand carved and hand polished. He is a long time resident of Victoria, BC where he has his home studio.
