In cooperation with the Bill Reid Gallery in Downtown Vancouver, the Department of Indigenous Studies at SFU is proud to offer a unique course that explores the life and legacy of Bill Reid.
The course engages with and builds upon the exhibition by the same name celebrating 100 years since Bill Reid’s birth. The interdisciplinary course covers a wide range of topics relating to Indigenous cultural expressions and belongings explored through the lens of Bill Reid and his career. The offering will incorporate the authentic voices of Haida artists and community leaders through guest lectures, short documentary films, as well as the tangible and intangible cultural expressions on display in the exhibition itself.
As social distancing regulations continue to be in place, this course will be a remote offering with access to much of the content provided via video recording.
