2021 BC Family Day - Online Workshop - Make Your Own Bannock

The Bill Reid Gallery will be celebrating BC Family Day weekend with a free online bannock making workshop. This workshop is now Sold Out.

Registered participants please have the following ingredients ready prior to the workshop:

Bannock Recipe

3 cups - all-purpose flour
2 ½ tbsp – baking powder
1 ½ tsp – salt
500-750 mL – cold water
Canola oil for brushing

Makes 10-12 pieces

Learn how to make your own bannock! Bannock is a special type of bread. Although it has European roots, it has been embraced in Indigenous culture all across Canada.

On February 13th, join the Bill Reid Gallery in learning how to make your own from the comfort of your own kitchen. In this free workshop led by Darnell Stager of Salmon n’ Bannock, you will not only learn how to make bannock, but also the cultural importance of this Indigenous comfort food.
