Dentalium shells have been around for thousands of years, and have been used as decoration, currency, and symbols of wealth. Traditionally, they have been used by First Nations and Inuit in North America through jewelry, adornment, and trade. Through this online workshop, you will learn how to make your own pair of dentalium earrings.

Kathleen Anderson is Michif and Anishinaabe from Treaty 1 territory in Manitoba who focuses on beadwork, quillwork, and jewelry making. She is currently studying Indigenous Studies and Linguistics at Simon Fraser University.
