Intermediate Weaving Workshop - Sold out
November 6, 11, 12, and 13
9 am to 4 pm for four days
Join us for a four-day, in-person weaving workshop led by Chepximiya Siyam’ Janice George and Skwetsimeltxw Willard ‘Buddy’ Joseph of the Squamish nation. This workshop is intended for those who have working knowledge of weaving and would like to enhance their skills and knowledge. All materials, tools, and looms will be provided. Lunch will be supplied each day.
Participants must be able to commit to all 4 days of the workshop.
Limited to 12 participants. This workshop is for Indigenous participants only, preference will be given to members of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
The cost of the workshop is free for Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. The Bill Reid Gallery is dedicated to making our gallery a community space and would like to support those who come from the host nations.
For non-MST members, cost of the workshop is $250.

Chepximiya Siyam’ Chief Janice George is a hereditary chief of the village of Senákw, and a trained museum curator and educator. Skwetsimeltxw Willard (Buddy) Joseph is an artist, master weaver, and educator from the Squamish Nation. Together, they are leaders in the revival of Squamish weaving, and have taught hundreds of students.
