Keeping the Song Alive Curatorial Tour
Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1 pm
The Gallery will be hosting a staff-led curatorial tour of our newest exhibition, Keeping the Song Alive. Co-developed by the Jewish Museum and Archives of BC and the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, Keeping the Song Alive focuses on the collaboration between Kwakwaka’wakw hereditary Chiefs Billy Assu, Mungo Martin, and ethnomusicologist Dr. Ida Halpern to record the ceremonial potlatch music of their people.
Our staff, who have invaluable knowledge of the exhibition’s history, artists, and individual artworks, will be hosting this in-person tour through the show’s space.
Free with Gallery Admission or Membership and for Indigenous community members.
Please email intern@billreidgallery.ca if you have any questions.
