Beaded Fringe Earrings with Serena Steel - SOLD OUT

Well-Made Object Workshop - Sold Out
In-person Workshop: Beaded Fringe Earrings with Serena Steel

Saturday, May 14, 2022, 1 - 4 pm

In this in-person workshop, learn to make your own beaded fringe earrings with Secwepemc artist Serena Steel. Beaded earrings are becoming an increasingly popular way for Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to support and celebrate this style of Indigenous art. Participants in this workshop will be provided with all the materials to create their own earrings and will gain a better understanding of the methods typically used.

Serena Steel is one of four artists featured in the upcoming exhibition Beaded Nostalgia, opening to the public on May 18th. She is an emerging, multidisciplinary artist from Barriere, British Columbia. Her work primarily focuses on beadwork and ceramics. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Critical and Cultural Practice and a minor in Social Practice and Critical Engagement from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Serena is currently a Gallery Associate at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art and has been with the Gallery since 2018.
