Artist Talk with Carrielynn Victor

Join us at the gallery Saturday, August 24 at 2 pm with Xémontalót Carrielynn Victor (Sto:lo) who is both an artist and an environmental consultant whose diverse artistic practice spans everything from hip hop and blues to traditional Salish music and dance. She will speak about her connection to Coast Salish design principles, and her passion for protecting, preserving and conserving culture and the landscape. Carrielynn’s powerful installation work, Qí:w (Keew) - A woman’s moon, & remembering sacred connections to waterways is included in our current exhibition - qaʔ yəxʷ - water honours us: womxn and waterways. On view until October 6, 2019.
