By: Bill Reid Gallery

The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art has implemented a number of measures to ensure the health and safety of visitors, staff, and volunteers. The information below outlines these measures, and we welcome you to email or call 604.682.3455 if you would like further information in advance of your visit.

Please note we have introduced special hours for vulnerable groups. Beginning June 11, every Thursday from 9:30 am-11 am is reserved for seniors, vulnerable people and first responders to visit.

Entry and Admission

Visitors may have contactless admission by purchasing ticket(s) online. Admission is still available for purchase at the admission desk upon arrival. We accept debit and credit cards, and cash. Hours and admission prices.

Please note that visitors that are feeling sick are asked to return home and visit when healthy.

Other measures include:

  • Signage and directional markers have been installed to ensure proper spacing of visitors at the entry and in the Gallery Shop.

  • Physical barriers have been installed at the admissions desk and in the Gallery Shop

  • All Visitor Services staff have been provided with masks, gloves, and additional cleaning supplies.

  • Tap payment is available to minimize touchpoints for Admissions or Gallery Shop payments

  • Restrictions have been implemented on personal items stored in the coat closet and baggage holding area

  • Masks are encouraged but not required. We will not provide masks for visitors, however reusable artist-designed masks are available for purchase in the Gallery Shop

  • Doors into the Exhibition Galleries will be propped open to minimize touchpoints

Exhibition Galleries

  • Only touchless, no contact audio-visual displays are installed

  • Hand sanitizing stations have been installed in public areas.

  • Staff monitor visitor numbers to ensure maximum capacity is not exceeded and safe social distancing can be maintained.

  • Exhibition tours are limited to 6 visitors and must be booked in advance.

  • Directional signage has been installed to mark separate entry and exit points

Additional Safety Measures

  • Enhanced cleaning measures have been implemented for all high touch areas including elevators, doors, and washrooms

  • Ventilation rates have been increased as much as possible. Supply air is contained to each floor and not mixed throughout the building and fresh air intake rates have been maximized so we are achieving between 6-8 full air changes per hour.
