Artist Demonstration with Peter Wayne Gong

By: Bill Reid Gallery

Have you ever wondered how a bentwood chest is made? Visit the gallery on January 27th from 2-3 pm to watch a live demonstration from Peter Wayne Gong, as he walks visitors through the steps he takes to create these beautiful chests.

Peter is the artist responsible for creating all the bentwood chests in our current exhibition, 13 Moons Around the Lake. Admission to the gallery is required to view the demonstration.

Peter Wayne Gong is a Squamish artist based in Mission, B.C. He specializes in wood carving & bentwood boxes. Peter was taught to carve by his uncle, Jack Miranda. He finds inspiration in his art by drawing upon his life experiences and passing on the knowledge he has acquired to the next generation.
